Huge Freeview TV boost tomorrow as Sky offers UK homes new content for free

If you use Freeview to get your nightly fix of entertainment then you might want to tune into the free Sky Mix channel tomorrow night. It's been confirmed that Sky will be broadcasting the first night of the new 2025 Premier League Darts season live across the UK. This event is usually only available to those with a premium Sky Sports subscription, but due to the growing interest in this sport, anyone can watch things kick off.

To add to the excitement, tomorrow's action looks set to feature stars such as wonderkid Luke Littler and darts legend Michael van Gerwen. If that sounds enticing, the action starts at 7 p.m. on Freeview Channel 11, coming live from Belfast’s SSE Arena.

If you get the buzz after tuning in tomorrow, you'll then need to sign up for Sky Sports with the TV platform just confirming that it's now the "home of darts" until 2030.

The new deal will include over 60 days of exclusively live coverage from the biggest darts tournaments every year including the PDC World Darts Championship, Premier League, World Matchplay, Grand Slam of Darts, World Grand Prix and World Cup of Darts.

“The incredible growth in darts viewership on Sky Sports over the last 12 months shows just how much the nation loves this sport," said Jonathan Licht, Managing Director of Sky Sports.

"The extraordinary story of last year’s World Championship helped to welcome new younger audiences to the sport and brought increased excitement for fans. Following another successful tournament, there seems no better time to extend our longstanding partnership with the PDC to remain the home of this uniquely brilliant sport. We’re excited to keep innovating to tell the stories and bring fans closer to the action through our unrivalled coverage of the biggest darts tournaments for the next five years.”

And PDC Chief Executive, Matt Porter added: "Sky Sports has been by our side for over 30 years and we're excited to extend our partnership for the next five years as we experience a surge in growth globally."
