Your iPhone just got a useful free app upgrade from Apple - here's what's new

If you have a big birthday or fancy a get-together with friends, you might want to try Apple's new Invites app. This latest software boost from the Cupertino team lets you create unique and fully interactive invitations on iPhone that can be easily sent to friends and family. That's a nice feature but Invites does more than just inform people of upcoming events.

Once an invite has been sent, you can see who has RSVP'd. The invite also creates a shared photo album, which lets everyone add photos from the party. It can even show what the weather will be like, offer directions to the venue and there's a way to make collaborative playlists so all music tastes are catered for.

Apple says hosts always get full control of their invite experience: They can easily view and manage their events, share invitations with a link, review RSVPs, and choose the details they want included in the preview, like the event background or a home address.

It even works with Apple Intelligence, making it easy to create unique artwork using Apple's new Image Playground software.

And, if you have Apple Intelligence on your iPhone it can help compose the perfect invitation using smart Writing Tools.

“With Apple Invites, an event comes to life from the moment the invitation is created, and users can share lasting memories even after they get together,” said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud. “Apple Invites brings together capabilities our users already know and love across iPhone, iCloud, and Apple Music, making it easy to plan special events.”

Fancy giving it a go? Apple says its Invite app is now available for free via the App Store.
