Led Zeppelin release 1969 clip from band's new doc film 'You’re completely mad' | Films | Entertainment

They may have long broken up, but now surviving members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones have reunited in an epic first: not back on stage, but on the big screen.

In an unprecedented move, the trio are talking heads in the first-ever authorised Led Zeppelin documentary film.

Becoming Led Zeppelin charts the band’s origins and rise to global stardom and will be released in cinemas this February.

In addition to the full trailer, which you can check out above, there’s also a new clip from the documentary film featuring John Paul Jones.

Remembering how he quit being a session musician to join a rock and roll band, Jones was told by colleagues: “You’re mad! Completely crazy!” Of course, little did they know that Led Zeppelin would go on to become the world’s best-selling band after The Beatles and Queen. Following the talking head moment, the clip features footage of the band performing How Many More Times at Teen Club in Denmark, back in 1969.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “Becoming Led Zeppelin explores the origins of this iconic group and their meteoric rise in just one year against all the odds. Powered by awe-inspiring, psychedelic, never-before-seen footage, performances, and music, Bernard MacMahon’s experiential cinematic odyssey explores Led Zeppelin’s creative, musical, and personal origin story. The film is told in Led Zeppelin’s own words and is the first officially sanctioned film on the group.”

Becoming Led Zeppelin is exclusively in IMAX on February 5 and 6 and in cinemas everywhere from February 7.
