Lewis Hamilton dons Ferrari colours for first time as close ally returns behind the scenes | F1 | Sport

Lewis Hamilton has appeared in Ferrari's iconic colours for the first time since joining the Italian squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The seven-time world champion arrived in Maranello earlier this week to begin work in his new surroundings. On Instagram, he posted a picture of himself outside the home of Enzo Ferrari, sparking a frenzy with the post gaining over five million likes.

Hamilton has since followed up by sharing an image of himself wearing the iconic red overalls he will sport during his debut season with Ferrari. He kept the caption short and sweet, writing: "FIRST TIME IN RED."

It comes after it emerged that Hamilton would be reuniting with Angela Cullen, his former personal trainer who worked alongside him for seven years between 2016 and 2023.

Cullen left Hamilton's team in a surprise move two years ago before taking up a new role with IndyCar racer Marcus Armstrong. She is expected to give up that position in order to rejoin Hamilton as he embarks on a fresh challenge at Ferrari.

It remains to be seen how the 40-year-old will fare at his new team, where he will be expected to hit the ground running to aid their hopes of winning the Constructors' Championship title.

Hamilton will also be looking to challenge for an eighth Drivers' Championship crown, which would see him surpass the record of seven that he currently shares with Ferrari great Michael Schumacher.

Earlier this week, Hamilton spoke of his pride at joining Ferrari and realising his childhood dream of getting behind the wheel in the famous red car.

"There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days," he wrote on Instagram.

"I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.

"Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together."
