GTA 6 price - Grand Theft Auto 6 increase to open floodgates and hit gamers where it hurts | Gaming | EntertainmentUntil we hear otherwise from Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch this autumn for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, we don't have an exact release date for GTA 6. Likewise, we don't have any pricing or pre-order information. Based on previous reports and the latest projections, Grand Theft Auto 6 could launch with a higher price point than rival video games. Couple this with reports of the Nintendo Switch 2 price tag, and 2025 could be an expensive year to be a gaming fan. According to a new report compiled by Epyllion analyst Matthew Ball, video game developers are hoping GTA 6 will be priced between $80-$100 when it launches later this year. This will open the floodgates in terms of pricing strategy, giving publishers the ability to start charging more for their games. The argument is that while development costs have skyrocked over the years, prices have largely stayed the same. "Some gamemakers hope GTA VI will be priced at $80-$100, breaking the $70 barrier and helping $50 titles move up to $60, $60 to $70, $70 to $80, etc," Ball argues. The price increase "could re-establish packaged video game prices after decades of deflation (despite rampant cost growth)". Previous reports suggest Rockstar Games could charge for GTA 6 and GTA Online separately, although we won't know for sure until we get an official announcement. What we do know is that Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, which is based on Florida. Rockstar explains: "Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet." The previously released trailer gives fans a look some of the map locations as seen from the skies above. This includes locations based on the Florida Keys, as well as the beach and more. The trailer also hints at a potential game-changing new feature for Grand Theft Auto 6, which will up the scale to never-before-seen levels. Source link Posted: 2025-01-21 22:17:43 |
