Chelsea player ratings vs Wolves: Two 8/10s but one 3 as Enzo Maresca mistake made clear | Football | Sport

Chelsea ended their woeful five-match winless run in the Premier League on Monday by cruising to a 3-1 win against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

Tosin Adarabioyo fired the hosts ahead in the first half before Matt Doherty profited from a Robert Sanchez howler to draw Wolves level shortly before the interval.

Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke restored order in a comfortable second half to deliver three points that return the Blues to fourth in the table.

Express Sport runs through the Chelsea player ratings on a victorious night in west London, but one that was better for some than others...

Chelsea player ratings vs Wolves

Robert Sanchez: 3

The Spaniard's unconvinced season continued by gift-wrapping Wolves' equaliser. What does Filip Jorgensen have to do to get a run as Maresca's first-choice goalkeeper?

Reece James: 8

Injuries have robbed the Premier League of one of its best-ever full-backs, this writer is convinced. Reminded everyone of his wealth of quality defensively and going forward.

Tosin Adarabioyo: 7

Opened the scoring and kept things ticking with plenty of touches and passes. Overshadowed by his defensive partner.

Trevoh Chalobah: 8

Maresca saw his summer mistake in HD out there. Dominant in duels and important in the build-up. Why the 25-year-old was playing his 2024/25 football at Crystal Palace until last week is baffling. Madeuke snatched a comeback goal for the third.

Marc Cucurella: 7

Restored Chelsea's lead on the hour mark. An efficient performance Chelsea have come to expect from him.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 7

His first Premier League start for Chelsea. Notched an assist and didn't put much of a foot wrong.

Moises Caicedo: 6

Not one of his finest displays and lost the ball 13 times. Booked in the 70th minute.

Noni Madueke: 6

What has the city of Wolverhampton done to this man in a past life? Directed Chalobah's effort into the net like a hyena spotted an injured zebra in the wild. But, unlike a predator, fairly toothless other than that.

Cole Palmer: 7

Not at his dangerous best, but his team didn't require saving tonight. Created three chances.

Pedro Neto: 5

May as well have been playing for his former club.

Nicolas Jackson: 6

Finished an offside goal very nicely. No goals in six games for him now.

Substitutes

Jadon Sancho: 6

Completed his only attempted take-on and created a chance in a 39-minute cameo.

Axel Disasi: 5

Didn't showcase why Chelsea should've shipped out Chalobah to accommodate him.

Malo Gusto: 5

An 18-minute stretch of the legs.

Tyrique George: N/A

Joao Felix: N/A
