Meghan Markle spotted volunteering to support girls charity as LA fires rage | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been spotted volunteering again this week in California as wildfires continue to rage through Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old was filmed arriving at the organisation Altadena Teen Girls, which local girl Avery Colvert launched to support the community following the wildfires.

The 14-year-old wanted to help young girls “regain their sense of self and confidence” in the devastating aftermath of the incident.

In a reel shared online by the organisation, Meghan can be seen arriving at the organisation alone with bags of donations made through her and Prince Harry's Archewell Foundation, including clothing and beauty products.

The Duchess of Sussex, who was wearing her LA black cap, also gave her time to volunteer with the organisation on Monday, with Town and Country magazine reporting that she brought lunch for the volunteers.

Meghan also chatted with the families as they visited, the magazine reports.

The volunteer work came just days after Meghan and Prince Harry were filmed volunteering at the Pasadena Community Centre in Los Angeles on January 10.

At the site, the couple - who quit life as senior royals in 2020 and moved to the US - were spotted talking to victims of the fires and handing out supplies.

Videos of the couple circulated online and in the news, and many were quick to criticise, including Hollywood actress Justine Bateman, who accused the couple of using the opportunity as a "repulsive photo-op."

She also labelled Harry and Meghan as “disaster tourists”. A source close to the couple claimed they found the actress's tweet "offensive" and did not volunteer for publicity.

They told Page Six: "It’s offensive to Meghan and Harry that anybody would think this is merely a photo opportunity.

"Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles so this is, and always will be, home to her."
