Brits reveal the 'right' way to eat a Cadbury Creme Egg as methods are wild




What's the best way to enjoy a Cadbury Creme Egg? Chocolate enthusiasts believe they've found the answer.

A survey of 1,500 chocolate lovers has unveiled the most favoured methods of eating a Cadbury Creme Egg - with techniques ranging from traditional to downright peculiar.

Popular approaches include sucking the creme out of the shell, 'peeling' back the foil like a banana and nibbling bit by bit, and even using a teaspoon.

The top method, preferred by a quarter of creme egg devotees, was to bite off the top and use your tongue to scoop up the gooey centre. However, simply biting into the egg and savouring the chocolate and filling together came in as a close second.

The study was conducted by Cadbury, the creators of the egg, to kickstart its 'Admit It To Win' competition encouraging fans to share their unique eating habits for a chance to win up to £10,000.

Cadbury spokesperson Joshua Collier commented: "We've long asked 'how do you eat yours? ' But honestly, there’s no right or wrong way and people should do their thing - we’re finding more and more wacky ways people are eating theirs.

The research revealed that 16% of fans confess to often eating their egg alone due to fear of judgement. "Some of them are almost unbelievable,'" Joshua added, "and there are methods we'd never even considered, [even] after producing Cadbury Creme Eggs for over 60 years."

Brits have been known to enjoy a Creme Egg in some rather unconventional ways, with some opting to deep fry the sweet treat and pne individual confessed to eating the gooey centre first before freezing the chocolate shell overnight to have the next day.

Another fan took their love for the treat to new heights by dipping chips into it, while another admitted to using a straw to suck out the gooey centre.

The popular chocolate egg has also found its way into the kitchen, with 11% of those surveyed admitting to using it as a cooking ingredient. The most common use was in brownies, followed by cookies and cupcakes.

Some adventurous souls have even used it on pizza and in croissants, or as a sweet twist on the traditionally savoury Scotch egg.

Joshua Collier commented: "Food is deeply personal, and the way we enjoy it often says something about who we are. That's why experimenting with how we eat isn't just fun-it's an expression of individuality.

"Cadbury Creme Eggs have been a canvas for playful indulgence for decades, inspiring everything from debates to challenges, and this spirit of experimentation is something to be cherished."
