Nintendo Switch 2 reveal finally happening this week - Save the date for Switch 2 Direct | Gaming | EntertainmentIt looks like fans won't have to wait much longer for the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal. And you might want to cancel your plans, because after months of rumours and speculation, a new leak suggests the Nintendo Switch 2 will be officially unveiled on January 16. Furthermore, the console is said to have a May/June release date, which means you can take your console on holiday with you. The potential reveal date was leaked by industry insider Nate the Hate, and was backed up by Verge senior editor Tom Warren. It's unclear if the reveal will take place during a dedicated Nintendo Direct conference, or if it will take the form of a trailer. Either way, the January 16 reveal is expected to focus primarily on hardware and not software. A second Nintendo Direct conference dedicated to Nintendo Switch 2 games is likely to take place in the coming weeks. It was recently claimed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth are in development for Nintendo Switch 2, while Metroid Prime 4 is expected to launch as a cross-platform game on the original Switch and Switch 2. A new Mario Kart game is reportedly in development, while a 3D Super Mario also seems likely. As for the Nintendo Switch 2, the console is also said to have some additional functionality compared to the current console. The Joy-con controllers will reportedly feature magnetic hall effect joysticks, which should eliminate stick drift. The console will allegedly launch in dark grey, although further colours may also be available. According to previous leaks, the Switch 2 is reportedly larger than the current model, with a smaller bezel for more screen space. Source link Posted: 2025-01-13 19:06:35 |
