Samsung confirms its Galaxy S25 is coming soon with a smart new upgrade

It's been rumoured for months; now we finally know exactly when the new Galaxy S25 will be officially unveiled. Samsung has just confirmed that it will give fans their first look at this latest flagship on January 22, 2025. The grand unveiling will take place in San Jose, California and along with releasing that all-important launch date, Samsung has also hinted at what's to come including that its upcoming devices will have a new feature called the 'Now Bar'. This upgrade looks set to learn about the things you like such as your favourite apps.

"The Now Bar – a feature that’s coming to our next Galaxy smartphones," said Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing and Omnichannel, and Head of Ireland – MX Division, Samsung UK & Ireland

"It learns your everyday actions and most-used apps, bringing them into one space. You’ll be able to control entertainment, get directions to your next meeting or start communicating in other languages from one convenient access point."

Along with that new addition, it seems the S25 will continue to get smarter thanks to improved AI.

"Get ready for AI that is more natural and intuitive," Samsung said in a post on its website.

"The next evolution of Galaxy AI is coming, and it’s going to change the way you interact with the world every day. The new Galaxy S series is about to set the bar once again for mobile AI experiences now and into the future."

We'll have to wait and see what new AI upgrades arrive on the S25, but these phones won't just be about being smarter. We can also expect them to feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm along with improved cameras, longer battery life, better display and tougher designs that are less likely to break.

Express.co.uk will be bringing you live coverage from the unpacked event so watch this space if you want to find out more.

Expect to see a Galaxy S25 showcased alongside a Galaxy S25 Plus and premium Galaxy S25 Utra. There could also be a few surprises such as earbuds, smart glasses and more.
