Luke Littler drops 'dirty' remark after blitzing Nathan Aspinall to set up MVG fight | Other | Sport

Luke Littler has revealed that his victory over Nathan Aspinall was ‘the best he’s felt’ at the PDC World Darts Championship so far.

The teenager cruised to a 5-2 success over his close friend, finishing with an average of 101.54 to set up a sensational semi-final clash with Stephen Bunting – who won by the same scoreline against Peter Wright on Wednesday night.

Littler was brimming with confidence against Aspinall, but the 17-year-old is confident he can grind out ‘dirty’ results when required, as he has shown at Alexandra Palace previously.

He explained: "It feels amazing, the perfect start to 2025, and it’s sinking in now: two tournaments, two semi-finals, and a step closer. The only thing in my head now is making that second final.

"From start to finish, that’s the best I’ve felt at this tournament - and hopefully I’ll get the same feeling tomorrow night. There were no nerves tonight - I just enjoyed myself, as I should be doing."

Reflecting on his previous contests, he said: "Everyone saw how I had to dig deep in my first game against Ryan (Meikle), and sometimes if you have to win dirty it’s an even better feeling."

The Nuke also commented on how the past year had flown by, saying: "From my perspective the last year just flew by, from Euro Tours, Pro Tours and World Series I played, but for the last two years I’ve spent New Year’s Eve chilling in the hotel and that’s hopefully what it’s going to be like every year now."

As Littler gears up to face Bunting and with Michael van Gerwen set to take on Chris Dobey in another semi, anticipation builds among fans for a potential dream final between Littler and MVG.

Addressing this, Littler added: "If that’s what everyone thinks, that’s fine - but anything can happen in the semi-finals of the World Championship.

"Stephen and I both know how well we can play against each other so it’s going to be about whoever turns up tomorrow night."
