Next James Bond odds slashed on rising star gaining on Aaron Taylor-Johnson lead | Films | Entertainment

Rumours have been circulating for months now that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to be cast as the next James Bond.

However, the Kraven the Hunter star has some tough competition, as in the last 24 hours, odds at Coral have been slashed on another rising star.

The actor in question is Dua Lipa’s alleged fiancé, Callum Turner and his chances of winning the Licence to Kill have halved from 4-1 to 2-1.

The 34-year-old English actor best known for the Fantastic Beasts films and Masters of the Air is now just behind bookies’ frontrunner Taylor-Johnson, who leads the pack on 4-5.

Like the latter, Turner is certainly the right age and nationality to be considered in the secret 007 auditions should he get the nudge from Barbara Broccoli.

Also in the running for the bookies’ race are the following: James Norton on 7-2, Paul Mescal on 6-1, Regé-Jean Page and Damson Idris on 8-1, Theo James on 9-1, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy on 10-1 and Jack Lowden on 12-1.

It’s worth noting that EON Productions have made it clear that they will be casting a male actor in his thirties but are open to any ethnicity.
