Vladimir Putin has been dealt a horror warning from Ukraine as military leaders reveal the true capabilities of their drones.

Ukraine's military intelligence spokesman, Andrii Yusov, has revealed that Kyiv has developed drones capable of striking targets over 1,200 miles away.

This revelation, made during an interview with Ukrainian news outlet News.Live, comes as Russia claims Ukraine launched drone attacks across several Russian regions overnight on Friday.

Ukraine has been escalating its drone attacks within Russian territory, reportedly hitting targets up to 600 miles from the front line, often without claiming responsibility.

Yusov said Ukraine's drones can operate at distances further than previously believed, stating: "Ukrainian long-range unmanned aerial vehicles can hypothetically operate up to 2,000 kilometers [1,243 miles]."

This coincides with reports of increased Ukrainian drone attacks, including those on Friday night targeting the Voronezh, Rostov and Belgorod regions. Russian state media outlet Tass reported that 56 drones were shot down.

On Boxing Day, the Ukrainian Air Force struck a military facility in Russia's western Oryol region used for maintaining and repairing Iranian-made Shahed drones, according to Ukraine's General Staff.

Yusov remained tight-lipped about any operations within Russia, saying: "In most other cases, we neither confirm nor deny. I can only say that there is a reason for the explosions."

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has unveiled ambitious plans for Kyiv to ramp up its drone production, targeting the manufacture of at least 30,000 long-range drones by 2025.

This move signals Ukraine's strategy to extend its strike capabilities deeper into Russian territory.

The country has been actively promoting its advancements in "missile-drones" - essentially upgraded UAVs equipped with turbojet engines that serve as a cost-effective alternative to traditional cruise missiles.

Ukraine proudly showcased its latest Palianytsia and Peklo hybrid models earlier this year.

Despite these developments, Russia continues to launch relentless missile and drone strikes across Ukrainian soil, indicating that the conflict shows no signs of diminishing.
