New Christmas game giveaway is an absolute must - but you need to hurry | Gaming | Entertainment

If the Steam Winter Sale is too much for your wallet to take, then you might want to visit the Epic Games Store instead.

Epic Games is giving away a free game every day until early 2025. No strings attached.

The latest free PC gaming giveaway is a particularly good one, as Vampire Survivors joins the scheme for one day only.

Indeed, you really don't have very long to redeem this freebie, because the promotion ends at 4pm GMT UK time on December 20.

In order to claim your free copy of Vampire Survivors, simply visit the game page on the Epic Games Store, login to your account and click 'GET'.

After redeeming the game, Vampire Survivors is yours to download and keep forever.

Vampire Survivors will be replaced by another free game at 4pm GMT on December 20, so it's definitely worth checking back to see what's next.

A former game of the year winner, Vampire Survivors helped create a new genre of game. It's kind of a bullet-hell survival game with roguelike elements, where you defeat hordes of enemies without actually pressing anything. You'll need to manually move around the map and avoid certain groups of monsters, but the game does the attacking for you.

You unlock a choice of new power-ups and attacks every time you reach a new level, as well as money to spend on new characters and upgrades.

It's also got some really affordable and highly recommended DLC, including Contra and Castlevania-themed stages and characters.

In addition to daily freebies, Epic Games has also discounted hundreds of games as part of the Holiday Sale.

This includes GTA 5 for just £14.99, as well as EA FC 25 for £23.99, Star Wars Outlaws for £38.99 and Alan Wake 2 for £19.99.

Other games discounted as part of the event include Hogwarts Legacy for just £12.49, which is the cheapest price to date.

Elsewhere, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is £32.49, Star Wars Outlaws is £38.99 and Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is £12.49.
