Jeff Bezos buys third mansion on same island for eye-watering 8-figure sum | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has splashed out nearly £70 million on a third mansion on the private island known as 'Billionaire's Bunker'.

The six-bedroom property is located on Indian Creek island near Miami, Florida.

This latest purchase adds to his growing collection of homes on the exclusive island.

The house was last sold in 1998 for a mere £2 million and was previously owned by former banker Javier Holtz.

It's believed that Bezos, aged 60, will live in this mansion while he demolishes his other two properties in the area.

This new home spans 12,135 sq ft and boasts nine bathrooms, a large front lawn, a pool, various balconies and entrances, among other features. It has a Spanish-style roof and is painted yellow.

For his other two homes on the island, Bezos reportedly paid a total of around £116 million.

The island is also home to residences owned by ex-New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Carl Ichan, and Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

In addition to these Florida estates, Bezos owns properties in Washington, Maui, and Beverly Hills. He bought his Beverly Hills home for about £130 million in 2020.

While most of us would be shocked at these prices, Bezos is the world's third richest person, with a fortune of around £160 billion, according to Forbes.

Last November, he revealed that he and his fiancee Lauren Sanchez are moving to Florida from Washington as their new home.

On the other hand, his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, hasn't been splashing out on property. Instead, she's been giving away huge chunks of her wealth to charities and non-profit organisations.

She announced that she's giving £503 million to over 360 small groups who responded to an open call she made last year.

Since splitting from Bezos five years ago, MacKenzie has given away £13 billion to non-profits.

Despite this, she remains the fourth richest woman in the world, says Forbes Magazine.
