Shower door stains vanish in 10 minutes if cleaned with 1 kitchen item better than vinegar

Shower doors tend to be difficult to keep clean as the damp environment in bathrooms encourages difficult stains such as greasy soap residue and limescale to build up.

Limescale is made up of minerals from evaporated water and forms a hard water stain that becomes tougher to remove the longer it is allowed to sit on shower glass.

However, the shower glass needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent mould from growing in the corner of the door but you do not need harsh chemical cleaners to do the job.

Amy Brooks, a cleaning expert from Bella Bathrooms, has shared that one of the easiest ways to remove tough stains from your shower door is to use lemon juice.

She said: “Lemon is not only great at getting rid of scum and mineral deposits, but it is ideal for removing streaks from glass shower doors.

“Ideally, when using lemon, you will want to combine it with baking soda as the acid will create a reaction with the baking soda.

“This reaction will create a foam that is perfect for scrubbing down any part of the bathroom, not just your shower door."

It may seem strange, but lemon juice is one of the most effective ways to remove limescale due to how acidic it is.

The citric acid inside lemon juice can dissolve limescale minerals as it is also antibacterial so it will sanitise your shower doors as well.

Baking soda is the best natural product to remove fatty stains such as oil and grease which makes it perfect for cleaning away soap stains clinging to your shower glass.

How to clean shower glass using lemon juice and baking soda

All you have to do is mix baking soda with lemon juice until you have a thick paste.

Apply the paste all over your shower door, and make sure to apply a generous amount to areas with the worst stain build-up.

Leave the shower door alone for at least five to 10 minutes to give the lemon juice and baking time to break down the stains. It may begin to fizz as it reacts to the limescale but this is perfectly normal.

Once the time is up, use a sponge to gently wipe your doors and stains should easily come off.

Rinse the shower door with clean water and wipe it quickly with a clean cloth to avoid the glass becoming streaky.

Your shower glass doors should now be sparkling clean using this easy but incredibly effective homemade solution.
