Andrew's Xmas plans chaos as he faces Royal ban after China 'spy' | Royal | News

Prince Andrew's involvement in the Royal Family's Christmas festivities is uncertain due to the escalating "Chinese spy" scandal.

The 64-year-old duke was expected to join the family's traditional walk to church on Christmas morning, a tradition he has participated in for the past two years since the Queen's passing.

However, his appearance alongside other royals is now in question and hr could be banned.

Veteran Royal expert Jennie Bond and former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror: "It's hard to imagine the duke will have the gall to parade himself before the loyal crowds at Christmas."

She added: "For the sake of the monarchy, he should spend it away from Sandringham, out of the public eye.

"The monarch's brother has become a recurring embarrassment to the Royal Family and now he's involved in a possible threat to national security."

The Chinese businessman was found by immigration judges to have gained an "unusual degree of trust from a senior member of the Royal Family" following an MI5 investigation. The Chinese businessman lost an appeal against a ruling to ban him from Britain on security grounds, and this is when Andrew's link to him was exposed.

It has been revealed that the 50-year-old attended Buckingham Palace twice at Andrew's invitation; St James's Palace, and Windsor Castle and even knew how to discreetly get people in and out of Andrew's residence. He denies any wrongdoing.

The King is said to be "truly exasperated" by his brother's latest scandal.
