Boots issues urgent warning to shoppers over popular Christmas gift

Boots has urgently recalled a Christmas gift set over fears of "risk of burns" to customers.

The retailer is pulling the Radley Cosy Up mug and sock set from shelves after discovering that the base of the mug could crack and break when used, posing a danger of hot drinks spilling out.

Shoppers who have snapped up the set are urged not to use it and to return it to their nearest Boots store immediately for a refund.

A spokesperson for the health and beauty giant warned: "We have been informed of a potential safety issue with the mug in this set.

"In some instances, the base of the mug is cracking and separating when in use, therefore, this product is being recalled."

A Boots spokesperson added: "The safety and well-being of our customers is very important to us.

"We're asking that you stop using the mug and return it to your nearest Boots store at your earliest convenience for a full refund.

"If you've bought this product for someone else, it's important that you let them know about this as soon as possible."

The Office for Product Safety and Standard has also flagged the risk, cautioning that the defective mug could lead to scalding injuries.

Customers seeking more information can reach out to SLG Brands Limited at 0800 0590157 from 8am to 6pm for further advice.

No other products are impacted by the recall.
