I tested a wet-dry vacuum and my floors have never been cleaner - I preferred it to Dyson

Last month, Tineco, a leader in innovative home appliances, announced the UK availability of some of its appliances, including the FLOOR ONE S5 Smart Cordless Wet-Dry Vacuum Cleaner and Mop.

Available for £399 on Amazon, the wet-dry vacuum is half the price of Dyson’s version. It’s also available on Tineco’s website for £379.

Having tried Dyson’s version, I was intrigued to see if one-half the price could live up to my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised.

The smart device detects, vacuums and mops all in one smart step and has the ability to pick up messes such as cereal, milk, pet hair and pet messes.

Better than a traditional mop, it always cleans with fresh water, leaving floors completely dry and streak-free.

The vacuum has smart sensor technology which gets wet and dry dirt, debris and other messes.

Its suction power, roller speed and water flow automatically adjust to the mess which means there is no need to switch settings to adjust cleaning power.

Its super smart LED screen changes from red to blue when the floor is clean, helping you to move on to the next section of the home.

I also loved how easy it was to set up, with a dirty water tank at the front, and a clean one at the back, which are removable and super easy to clean.

It also has a handy dock, which helps to keep everything in place and charge it at the same time, and it’s super easy to place the wet-dry vacuum on it.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get going with this vacuum, simply filling up the fresh water tank, placing in a cap of the Tineco Floor Cleaning Solution and setting off.

I managed to clean the entire downstairs of my home within just 10 minutes, cutting the time it usually takes by more than half.

You can enjoy up to 35 minutes of cordless runtime thanks to its smart battery optimisation too.

This means I could clean the downstairs of my home three times before it needed to be charged again. It’s super easy to charge, too, and it just simply needs to be placed on the dock, and it displays the battery percentage on the screen.

I had so many compliments on my wood floor downstairs which sees lots of foot traffic daily, with many family members saying how clean and streak-free they looked.

However, the power of this vacuum doesn’t stop there as it also has a self-clean function.

This automatically flushes out any dirt, hair and debris, and keeps the roller clean.

This was a super impressive function as the dirty tank and roller can get quite dirty due to the ability to mop up large messes and food.

A downside is the base is quite large so you do need a spare cupboard with a plug or space to store this, but I was happy to make the space seeing as how impressive the device is.

It’s also not recommended to use a third-party cleaning solution in the Tineco appliance, which is quite restrictive because it’s £24.99 a bottle.

However, you only need one capful in each tank of water to clean the floors, so it does last a while before it needs replacing.

Overall, I absolutely loved this appliance, found it much easier to use than Dyson’s version and it worked much better for me too.

There are some other wet-dry vacuums on the market, but they are quite hard to come by in the UK.

Gtech released their first wet and dry vacuum known as the Orca Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner for £349.99, and it has raving reviews.

I also tried out Dyson’s V15s Submarine wet and dry vacuum earlier this year, which normally retails for £800, but it is currently on sale on Dyson for £599.99.
