Tesco issues urgent recall of Christmas dinner item over safety concernsTesco has issued an urgent recall for a popular Christmas dinner item, the Tesco Red Cabbage and Apple 300G, due to incorrect labelling that could make the product unsafe for consumption. The supermarket giant has apologised for any inconvenience caused and is urging customers to check their fridges for the product. A packaging error means the affected items display a Use By date of December 29, when it should be December 11. This mistake could lead to the red cabbage and apple mix being consumed past its intended shelf life, posing a health risk. Customers who have purchased the product are advised not to eat it and to return it to any Tesco store for a full refund, no receipt necessary. For further help, customers can contact Tesco Customer Service on 0800 505 555. In a separate announcement, another leading supermarket chain has been forced to recall a supplement over fears it may contain small stones and metal fragments. ZOE's Daily 30+ 7 Day, a product from the well-known wellness brand founded by Professor Tim Spector, was swiftly recalled as the presence of foreign objects would render it "unsafe to eat". Waitrose has acted promptly to remove the item from its shelves "because it may contain small stones and small pieces of metal," as confirmed in an alert by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). The food watchdog has deemed this product unfit for consumption, reports the Mirror. The supplement, a mix of seeds and spices intended to be sprinkled on meals, is designed to help you incorporate more than 30 plants into your weekly diet, including herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables. However, swallowing small, hard objects like stones can present a choking risk, especially for young children. This isn't the first time that shards of metal or stones have been found in food. In October, Marks and Spencer recalled batches of butternut squash soup due to concerns they contained metal fragments. Source link Posted: 2024-12-08 14:48:30 |
