Limescale is the number one cause of grubby shower screens with soap scum taking second place.

Limescale is particularly more prevalent in homes that suffer from hard water, and this buildup targets any area of your home that is in constant contact with water.

Many households rely on shop-bought cleaning sprays that are designed to clean your shower, but there could be something in your kitchen that can do the job - and just in five minutes.

Taking to their TikTok account, @cleanfreak_cleaning_co shared a video on how thay were able to transform their limescale-ridden shower screen into a crystal clear masterpiece.

To tackle this task, the cleaning pro simply used one household item everyone will have in their kitchen - washing up liquid.

The caption of the video reads: “Wait till you see the results.” Many cleaning fans were highly impressed in the comments.

@sandra_749 claimed: “I haven’t used anything else on my shower glass since using dish soap.”

For this method, the cleaner started by wetting a regular dish sponge and dousing it in washing up liquid.

Using circular motions, they then used the sponge to wipe the screen making sure every inch is covered.

The cleaning pro then highlighted the importance of letting the soap sit on the shower screen for five minutes before rinsing it down.

Once the screen is rinsed, it is recommended to go in with a squeegee to clear the water and leave a streak free finish.

To prevent shower screens from building up with limescale and soap scumb, it’s worth wiping it down after every use or every other use.

There are also product on the market that you can spray your shower screen with to avoid water sticking to the surface, however, it may need to be applied regularly.
