The southbound section of the M1 in Leicestershire is currently closed between Junction 22 (Markfield) and Junction 21 (Leicester) due to a police-led incident.

Emergency services, including Leicestershire Police and National Highways, are at the scene managing the situation and assisting with traffic control.

Traffice Officers are working to clear the traffic caught within the closure. 

The National Highways posted on X, forrmerly known as Twitter: "Due to an ongoing @LeicsPoliceRPU led incident, the #M1 is closed southbound between J22 ( #Markfield) and J21 (#Leicester). #TrafficOfficers are en route to assist with strategic closures."
