PS Plus December 2024 line-up includes a game of the year winner | Gaming | Entertainment

Sony has officially unveiled the new PlayStation Plus games for December 2024, and it's a pretty decent selection to end the year.

Available from the morning of December 3, the latest batch of free PS4 and PS5 games are headlined by the sublime It Takes Two.

The co-operative adventure game is the perfect choice for PlayStation Plus, especially if you have a friend willing to play along with you.

The winner of multiple game of the year awards, It Takes Two is directed by Josef Fares, whose previous credits include Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and A Way Out.

With an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, the game sees players team up to solve puzzles after being transformed into dolls by a magic spell.

Not only is the game packed with delightful puzzles and fiendish brainteasers, but it also boasts a powerful narrative that's both funny and full of heart.

It Takes Two will be joined by Aliens Dark Descent, which is a critically-acclaimed strategy game set in the Alien universe.

"In Aliens: Dark Descent, command a squad of hardened Colonial Marines to stop a terrifying Xenomorph outbreak on Planet Lethe," reads the official description.

"Lead your soldiers in real-time combat against iconic Xenomorphs, rogue operatives from the insatiable Weyland-Yutani Corporation, and a host of horrifying creatures new to the Alien franchise."

Like many of the best strategy games, Aliens Dark Descent utilises a permadeath feature, which means that when your squad members die, they're gone for good.

I always feel like this ups the stakes and increases the tension, especially when you lose a powerful member of your squad that has been there since the beginning.

Elsewhere, PS Plus Essential subscribers will also be able to download TemTem from December 3.

Inspired by Pokemon, TemTem sees players attempt to tame upwards of 165 creatures across seven different islands.

Essentially a Pokemon MMO, you can also battle other "Tamers", explore dungeons, build a home and breed creatures as part of this grand adventure.

Replacing the current line-up of Hot Wheels 2, Ghostwire and Death Notes, the new games can be redeemed from December 3 until January 7.
