How to remove stains from log burner glass fast without scrubbing

Cleaning is a must for anyone with log burners as persistent brownish-black stains tarnishing the glass can really disrupt the striking aesthetic these stoves give off.

To tackle this cleaning task, Ronnie Kendrick from CompanyClean has dished out insider tips on preserving log burner windows spotless, ensuring no harm comes to the glass.

Ronnie swears by a concoction of washing up liquid, white vinegar, and water, calling it a “highly effective and safe way” for a smudge-free shine.

He claimed that there are a few reasons why this cleaning blend gets his vote every time.

However, for this “powerful” method to work in five minutes, households need to use a good quality washing-up liquid.

Given that log fires are notorious for sooty build-up and oily muck, this mess tends to cling to the glass.

Dish soap comes to the rescue, highly skilled at banishing those pesky stains while keeping the glass unscathed, says Ronnie.

The addition of white vinegar with dish soap is what makes this technique “work wonders”, the expert highlighted.

Breaking it down, Ronnie explained: “White vinegar, on the other hand, is a natural acid that works wonders on mineral deposits and hard water stains.”

On top of that, he highlights how it shines at melting away the mineral deposit crust that can thicken over time on log burner panels.

When you mix these two cleaning agents with water, you’ll whip up a balanced concoction that's “gentle enough not to scratch the glass” but “strong enough to tackle even the toughest burnt-on stains”.

Plus, this approach is an “affordable and readily available option” for most homeowners.

The method couldn’t be simpler. Just slap on the mixture, give it a few minutes to work its magic on the stains, give it a gentle scrub with a soft cloth, and wash it away.

For those pesky, stubborn spots, you can bring out a scraper or razor blade at a low angle if you need to. But remember, if you’re going down that route, take extra care not to leave any scratches on your glass.
