Black Friday, for better or worse, is more than just one day of sales. Even though the day itself is 29 November this year, most of November has been full of discounts on all sorts of products from retailers up and down the land, and high street favourite Currys is no exception. We’ve been scouring its website for the very best offers since picking out the best early deals, and now Currys has added more to the sale, we’ve rounded up our six new tech picks.

Judging by what we’ve picked, it’s a particularly good time to be shopping for smartphones, TVs or headphones this year. Below we’ve selected three top phones all with superb discounts, including the Samsung Galaxy S24 for one of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen with £200 off.

You can also upgrade your living room set up with the 50-inch Hisense TV that comes with the latest free streaming service Freely built in, so you can watch Freeview channels and more over your Wi-Fi connection and ditch your satellite dish.

Here are six great tech deals from the Currys Black Friday sale.

One of the best phones of the year is on sale for one of the lowest prices we’ve seen. Saving £200 on the Galaxy S24 is a steal. It’s one of the most pocketable yet powerful phones you can get with a 6.1-inch high quality OLED screen, excellent triple cameras, wireless charging, seven years of software updates to 2031 and outstanding build quality.

You can also play with Samsung’s new Galaxy AI features. These let you edit images to remove people or objects, do live translations with people speaking other languages, rewrite your texts or emails to change the tone, and even transcribe or summarise long voice recordings.

This is a top price for a 50-inch QLED 4K TV. Hisense is a well-known and trusted brand, and what’s more this screen comes with Freely built in. Freely is the new streaming platform from the people who run Freeview, which gives you free access to BBC, ITC, Channel 4 and many more channels over your home Wi-Fi connection.

The Hisense has a 60Hz refresh rate, three HDMI 2.0 ports for plugging in a DVD player or games consoles, plus support for Dolby Atmos audio and HDR 10 hi-res content. You can also run apps such as Netflix and Disney+ right from the TV without the need for a separate streaming stick.

Huawei Watch GT 4

NOW £159 - SAVE £40

The best thing about this Huawei smartwatch watch is the battery life. It can hit up to 14 days of power before it needs the charge, wiping the floor with the two days that rivals can usually manage. The Watch GT 4 achieves this by basically being an activity tracker disguised as a smartwatch. You don’t get third-party apps, but the sport and health tracking is all here.

The circular watch works well in both formal and informal settings, while heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring keeps you aware of your vitals. Track your runs and cycles without your phone thanks to built-in GPS and check your sleep quality, all in a watch that links to iOS or Android phones.

Google Pixel 8a

NOW £369 - SAVE £130

Not only is this an amazing price for one of the best mid-range phones you can buy right now, it’s also the first time you’ve been able to buy the green Pixel 8a from third-party retailers - it has been a Google Store exclusive until now.

The phone is guaranteed seven years of software updates, has excellent dual cameras, a 120Hz screen for smooth scrolling of apps and text, as well as a plastic back that is less likely to smash than glass. There’s even wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

NOW £159 - SAVE £60

These are Samsung’s latest in-ear wireless earbuds for a superb price. Available in silver ot white, the Buds 3 Pro pair with any phone or tablet and have touch sensitive stems for play, pause and volume control with a swipe. We’ve tested them and found them extremely comfortable with excellent active noise cancellation for blocking out sounds to best enjoy your music, podcasts, audiobooks and calls.

They’re water and sweat resistant so perfect for exercise, and if you have a Samsung phone with Galaxy AI you can use the buds to talk to the digital assistant. Auto-switching between multiple Galaxy devices works well too. We found battery life to be great and overall recommend these buds - especially at this price.

Samsung Galaxy A55

NOW £285 - SAVE £154

If you want to spend less on a smartphone but still want Samsung quality, the Galaxy A55 is a solid choice. Usually £439, this mid-range phone is a bargain at £285. It has triple rear cameras, a bright 6.6-inch OLED screen, large 5,000mAh battery and ships with Android 14.
