How to make poached eggs fast without a pan or vinegarEggs can often prove to be a hassle to cook, depending on the variety you’re after. Poached eggs are known to be the trickiest to master on the hob, but that’s not the only way to poach them. Taking to her TikTok page @sugar_pink_food, Latoya Egerton shared a “handy way” to make poached eggs in the air fryer and you don’t need any vinegar for it. She captioned the video: “Perfect poached eggs! Here’s a handy way to get poached eggs in the air fryer without having to worry about vinegar or stirring your water.” Latoya started by grabbing two glass ramekins and spraying them both with oil before filling them up halfway with boiling water. Vinegar is used when eggs are poached the traditional way to keep the eggs together. But since this air fryer method uses ramekins to keep the egg’s shape, the vinegar is not needed. Using hot water ensures the egg whites start to cook before the yolks, creating the perfect poached egg with a runny centre. If you use cold water, the water will heat up at the same time as the rest of the egg and not help you cook the white faster than the yellow. She then cracked two eggs directly into the water and transferred them to the air fryer. Latoya recommends cooking them in the air fryer for six minutes at 200 degrees for a “runny yolk”. Make sure to safely remove ramekins from the air fryer using a spatula underneath and an oven mitt on top when lifting them out of the air fryer. Be careful not to spill any of the liquid. Don’t let the egg sit in the hot ramekin after cooking or the egg will continue to cook and may become overdone. After she drained the eggs and was left with “perfect poached eggs” which she served on toasted crumpets. Poached eggs go nicely on a bed of ripened avocado and toasted sourdough bread.
