Rob Brydon's quiet life in posh suburb where houses fetch £936,000

Rob Brydon is a Welsh actor, comedian, singer and writer who rose to fame in the black comedy series Human Remains and the mockumentary series Marion and Geoff.

The 59-year-old has appeared in several series over the years, including the comedy series Supernova, The Keith Barret Show and 24 Hour Party People.

However, Brydon is most known for his role as Uncle Bryn in the BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey, for which he received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Comedy Performance.

He has also appeared in several TV series with comedian and actor Steve Coogan, including The Trip, The Trip to Italy, The Trip to Spain and The Trip to Greece.

Before rising to fame, Brydon grew up with his parents and younger brother in the village of Baglan near Port Talbot, Wales.

The village is located on the side of a hill near Baglan Bay, the moors and Cwmafan.

While at school, he met stand-up comedian Suzy Eddie Izzard, comedian and writer Ruth Jones and actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Away from the screen, Brydon lives in Strawberry Hill in Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames, with his wife, Clare Holland. The couple has two sons.

Strawberry Hill is an affluent suburb in Twickenham that is located just 10 miles away from Charing Cross.

The posh suburb is known for its 18th-century Gothic villa, Strawberry Hill House, which was designed by author Horace Walpole between 1749 and 1776.

The property sits on an impressive 46 acres and is surrounded by beautiful Grade II-listed gardens, which are listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Strawberry Hill is a family-friendly area that feels more like a rural village than a London suburb. With tree-lined streets and views of the River Thames, the suburb has a leafy feel but still has its own links to London Waterloo.

In the summer, visitors can enjoy a picnic on Twickenham Green or, in the autumn, enjoy a crisp walk and a hot coffee from one of the surrounding cafes. Meanwhile, views of Eel Pie Island can be enjoyed from The Embankment in Twickenham.

Homes in Strawberry Hill don't come cheap and had an overall average price of £936,012 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Strawberry Hill during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £455,934. Terraced properties sold for an average of £927,030, with semi-detached properties fetching £1,729,050.

Overall, sold prices in Strawberry Hill over the last year were four percent up on the previous year and six percent down on the 2021 peak of £994,017.
