Royal Family LIVE: Meghan 'takes role of second fiddle' | Royal | News

A royal commentator has revealed the exact moment she says Meghan Markle played "second fiddle" to Prince Harry in the couple's latest video appearance.

Royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield, appeared on Talk TV to discuss the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's video for the Global Ministerial Conference on violence against children in Colombia, promoting online safety for children.

Kinsey said: "Watching that video, didn't it feel like Meghan was reluctantly accepting the role as second fiddle and she was allowing him the spotlight. I am wondering if that is their publicist saying 'they don't like the fact you wear the pants in the family, it's the Duke and Duchess of Sussex'".

Host, Kevin O'Sullivan, added: "She is reduced to borrowing the late Queen's favourite phrase, all of her speeches began with 'my husband and I', it was a national joke in Britain. Now Meghan has been reduced to borrowing it and reduces her to the role of a little wife really, taking second position."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke in a video published via their Archewell Foundation website, where Harry addressed the audience first, and Meghan followed. In the video, Meghan, 43, spoke about the importance of addressing digital violence to prioritise children’s safety in today’s world.

Harry, who appeared by his wife's side for the first time since September, added that families are "desperately seeking support" to protect their children in this digital age.

Meghan said: "My husband and I recognise today’s reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology, which of course has many positives, but which also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age."

This is the first time the Sussexes have spoken since Mr Trump was reelected.
