How to stop condensation on your windows using woman's 'magical' hack

As the cold season grips the nation, many are noticing that dreaded condensation on their windows.

The annoying problem occurs when toasty indoor air hits chilly surfaces or there's simply too much moisture hanging around your house. When this humid air meets a frigid surface, it cools down swiftly, releasing water and causing droplets to form.

It's critical to address this issue promptly as persistent condensation can lead to structural damage like rotten wood, and even hazardous mould.

Typical solutions include cranking up extractor fans and promoting good airflow. Yet, one clever TikTok user showcased her ingenious tip to eliminate condensation and ensure it doesn't stage an unwanted comeback.

Anita Birges, a popular figure on the platform with more than 75,100 fans, shared what she termed the "best winter home hack you will see today".

In her viral clip, she explained: "It's for all that condensation build up we get at the bottom of our glass windows and doors in winter.

"Check out how I do it! Now these are the windows in my lounge room, but this condensation problem is happening all over my home."

Delving into the details, she instructed: "Grab your dishwashing liquid and a dry microfibres cloth, put a small amount on and let's get to it. Starting from the top, I want you to rub vigorously all over the window, including the frame.

"If your cloth is getting too wet, replace it with a dry one and keep on going. The dishwashing liquid creates a barrier which stops condensation coming back."

Anita revealed the clever trick that left viewers astounded, sharing how she only applied this "magical hack" to the middle window to highlight the difference.

Elated with the results, she said: "Look at this! I'm going to be going around and doing the whole house now." Her video quickly went viral, garnering 3,700 likes and a flurry of comments.

Fans were amazed, with one responding: "Oh my goodness! My house is so damp and every morning in the winter I have to dry lots of windows. I so hope this works for me!"

Another shared their own experience: "For years I have been doing this for my glasses as well, stops them from fogging up." A third was eager to try it out: "Oh wow! I'm going to do this. The condensation is so bad at the moment."

And a fourth chimed in: "Definitely need to try this."
