Man who flew to Tenerife to meet a friend is reported missing | World | News

A Ramsbottom man has been reported missing in Tenerife, with no contact for over three days, his family has revealed. Kris Finney, 31, flew to the Spanish island last Thursday morning to join a friend on holiday.

He called his mum that afternoon to say he had arrived but warned his phone was running low on battery, according to his aunt Debbie. Since then, his family and friends have not heard from him, and his phone appears to be switched off, with calls and messages failing to deliver.

The electrician, who works across Lancashire and Manchester, was supposed to meet a friend on the island but failed to make contact or appear. He is described as a white male, about 5ft 7ins tall, with short dark hair.

His aunt, Debbie Kenyon, said Kris last spoke to his friends around 9pm last Thursday and was last known to be at the Playa de las Americas resort on the island, near the McDonald's restaurant. He was believed to be staying at Casa Natalia, in the Armeñime area.

Photos of Kris and details of his last known location have been shared on the Missing Persons Tenerife Facebook group, which has over 10,000 members, reports Manchester Evening News.

Debbie said: "He was going for a week away and meeting up with his friend. He flew out on Thursday morning last week. He arrived on Thursday afternoon. His mum got a text at 4pm from him, and that was the last we heard from him. According to some of his friends, they were speaking to him around 9pm that night.

She added, "Since then, nobody has heard anything from him. He was supposed to meet up with his friend who is staying in a different hotel and never showed. We have phoned and sent texts that haven't delivered."

Debbie continued, "It was last night that we got the call from one of his friends saying nobody had heard from him for days. We've been trying to get hold of him and haven't been able to - it's not like Kris. He may sometimes not contact you for 12 to 18 hours but then he always reaches out. There was nothing we could do at that time of night."

Finally, she said, "Today we have found out the details about where he was staying and have been contacting police in Tenerife and also our local police. The Foreign Office have all the details. They have already rang his friend as part of enquiries and spoken to him and contacted his mum again."

The Manchester Evening News has reached out to the Foreign Office and Civil Guard for more information.
