Clint Eastwood ‘last film’ redeemed after premiere snub and 'dumpster fire' blow | Films | Entertainment

Clint Eastwood’s latest directorial effort Juror No 2 has scored an impressive 92 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, what could well be the 94-year-old’s final film has not been given the cinematic release you’d expect the Oscar winner to deserve.

A straight-to-streaming debut was only shelved out of respect to the Hollywood legend, but Juror No 2 only open to a measly 28 movie theaters this weekend across the US.

EmpireCity Box Office wrote prior: “I’ve given Warner Bros Pictures the benefit of the doubt, but what a dumpster fire.

“They are releasing Clint Eastwood's likely final film Juror No 2 in less than 50 theaters with no marketing support on 11/1 and no expansion plans. It had one of the best-received trailers this fall. Shame.”

Eastwood himself snubbed Juror No 2’s Hollywood premiere as the closing film of the AFI Fest, leaving Nicholas Hoult and his co-stars to take charge.

Nevertheless, there has now been some redemption for the icon’s rumoured “final film”

Warner Bros initially unveiled its awards season For Your Consideration page with movies ranging from Dune: Part II to Furiosa and even the poorly received Joker: Folie à Deux. But there was no sign of Juror No 2 until now.

Puck’s Matt Belloni now reports that Warner Bros has decided to give Juror No 2 a “small awards campaign.”

Juror No 2 is out now in UK cinemas but is expected to be on VOD by the end of the month.
