He continued by vowing that golf would therefore allow ‘average Joe’s’ to propel themselves into becoming a global name by hitting a good run of form in the public eye and thus making their mark on the LIV Golf setup.

The idea of everyday players being able to face off against the likes of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka is likely to prove popular with some supporters and could attract a wider audience if there is not a marked gulf in quality between the People’s Team and the rest on a weekly basis.

Of course, the idea may need some amendments to work though the general consensus from Norman Jr’s followers was that the idea had legs and could help LIV Golf take advantage of a fresh initiative.
