Seaside town where homes fetch £146k named one of UK's 'most desirable' to live

Research conducted by house-buying experts housebuyers4u has unveiled the most desirable places to live in the UK based on five categories based on data from the Home Office and Tripadvisor.

The five categories include a culture score (based on shopping, nightlife, and more), a green score (based on the count and rating of nature and parks), a housing score (based on housing affordability), a utility score (based on energy and gas), and a violent crime score (based on the annual increase or decrease of reported incidents).

In each category, the area was given a score out of 100 which was then used to give a final index score.

The list included a mix of historical, seaside and rural towns and cities including Blackpool which came in third place.

The Lancashire town scored highly for its attractions which included 27 concerts and show attractions, 18 more than the national average. Overall, Blackpool's culture score was an impressive 77.36 out of 100.

Blackpool also scored highly for its housing - and it's easy to see why.

Cheap homes, excellent amenities and beautiful coastal surroundings make the town an ideal option for anyone looking to relocate.
