Remove shower limescale using 1 product that requires 'no scrubbing'

Showering daily may leave people feeling fresh and clean, however, the same can't be said for our screens. No matter how much elbow grease homeowners put into cleaning their shower screen it never comes out sparkling.

Thankfully there is a simple solution to get rid of the limescale and it is not to do with any expensive cleaning products.

And it turns out that people may already own the product with it being in your laundry products, so what is it?

Tumble dryer sheets are the go-to product which will see Brits back £1.99 from Home Bargains, £2.50 from Tesco or £3 from Asda.

One user on Reddit took to the forum site to share her shower screen cleaning method. The woman posted pictures of the shower screen before and after using tumble dryer sheets.

In a post titled: "Dryer sheets are THE move!" The user said: "Filled our dinky bin cleaning all three sides of our shower panels!!! Night and day difference!!!"

The user detailed the method she followed to clean the screen and said: "I just drenched each dryer sheet scrubbed (didn’t have to scrub hard AT ALL) until there was a lot of soapy build-up (on either the shower panel or the sheets themselves).

"Rinsed off with water, then repeated until there were less soapy streaks every time I scrubbed.

"Once I was happy I rinsed the panels off and dried the panels with a towel! I think there will always be a bit of soapiness left behind from the sheet itself (if not, then I still have soap scum on my panels lol)".

People took to the thread to share their own results with one person writing: "I’ve struggled getting hard water spots out of the glass on my newly (four years ago) redone bathroom.

"I missed the opportunity to ceramic coat the inside glass in the beginning and after 4-5 months in, I’ve had water scale happen.

"I did the whole squeegee process and yeah it helped but the pesky spots by the handle were always a nuisance using the squeegee was impossible to get everything.

"I read a post on here that said to try the fabric softener sheet hack and OMG. Night and day difference in one 10-minute application. I was blown away. I’ve probably spent £40 to £60 on products claiming to clean soap scum, hard water and to no avail!"

A second person commented: "The dryer sheets mentioned contain 'dialkylester dimethyl ammonium methosulfate' as the primary chemical agent.

"This is an acidic chemical with a PH value about the same as white vinegar. It's also the main chemical in a wide range of fabric softeners which is why you can usually just use vinegar instead to soften.

"So it is literally working by using an acid-based chemical to remove the limescale."
