Couple grow potatoes in small garden – and are gobsmacked by results

With the final few months of autumn left, many Brits might spend the last bit gardening before the chilly weather finally takes over.

Now one man revealed just what you can do even with a small back garden. He shared the results of growing potatoes in containers.

In a TikTok post with his 1.1million followers, user @plantedinthegarden decided to plant russet potatoes in grow bags and was left amazed by the results.

The caption read: "We grow our potatoes in containers and this is the result. We planted russet potatoes in grow bags and red fingerling potatoes in elevated wooden planter.

"Collectively we were able to get a decent harvest from our small backyard garden."

In the video, the man can be seen carrying a planter filled with some of his grown potatoes. He then placed it on the container with some mud before completing the process with his other growth.

Impressively, he managed to grow a lot of spuds in his back garden, which he described as "small". He was amazed by the results and how much he ended up growing.

Although he didn't specify how long it took, the TikTok user was chuffed with the patience and tending he gave his potatoes.

The post racked up 47,800 likes and hundreds of comments since it was shared recently.

One wrote: "Your garden is so neat!" While another added: "Nice harvest." A third commented: "Love your series!"

Then a fourth chimed in: "Now that was fun to watch!" And a fifth added: "Your garden is always amazing!"

The TikTok user often shows followers his gardening progress and tips with his partner. The couple pride themselves on eating good food, learning and living simply.

Just recently, the family grew a year's worth of veggies in their garden and were left gobsmacked by the quantity.

This comes after another family were quoted £14,000 for a garden job who noticed something incredible after their renovation.
