According to LADbible, at the gala screening one person puked and there were 11 walkouts; nine of which took place during the movie’s opening scene.

Leone teased: “Mark my words, I guarantee you the first five minutes of this movie is going to be very controversial.”

Shared on the film’s X account is a note on a cinema door that reads: “Warning! This film contains extreme violence and excessive gore. If you are feeling unwell, please find a member of staff. Staff trained in first aid are on site.”

The Christmas-set threequel currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 93 per cent positive reviews.

Terrifier 3 hits UK cinemas on October 11, 2024
