eBay announces major change across UK siteeBay have announced that they will be removing fees for private sellers across all categories, except motors in the 'Cars, Motorcycles & Vehicles' listing. This means that private sellers will no longer pay final value fees or regulatory operating fees when they sell on eBay. The online reselling website introduced free selling in fashion earlier this year and is now expanding it to their other categories, in order to make the selling process more streamlined and safe for both buyers and sellers. Alongside scrapping selling fees, eBay have launched a number of new features that will make selling and buying on their site much easier. Their new simplified selling feature will allow sellers to list items across categories within minutes using guidance about the best pricing and shipping options, alongside AI-generated descriptions and photo-enhancing tools. And it's not just selling that is being 'simplified', but also delivery, with new features being rolled out that will give a tracked and fully covered delivery at competitive rates, paid for by the buyer. Their eBay Local feature will let shoppers find nearby items available for in-person collection, all protected by eBay’s Money Back Guarantee. Sellers’ listings will have increased visibility with local buyers, along with an easy and secure payment process. From mid-October they will also be introduced eBay balance, which will give sellers the flexibility to use their earnings to shop on eBay, promote their listings, purchase delivery labels or withdraw available funds. Announcing these new changes, Kirsty Keoghan, GM of eBay UK, said: "eBay is constantly improving the marketplace experience in order to deliver on what our customers want. "Removing selling fees across categories is designed to give buyers access to greater breadth and depth of inventory, while creating a simplified and streamlined experience for sellers." It comes after free selling proved a huge success for eBay Germany, with more buying and selling taking place on the site when this change was brought in. Source link Posted: 2024-10-01 04:26:39 |
