Princess Anne's brutal six-word reaction to Prince William's birth | Royal | NewsPrincess Anne had a brutal six-word reaction following the birth of Prince William on June 21, 1982. Although members of the Royal Family were delighted by the birth of the now-King Charles's first child, Anne is said to have not taken the news well. Having travelled back from a visit to New Mexico shortly before, Anne was asked by reporters about William's birth. After being told the late Princess Diana, then aged just 20, had given birth to her first child, Anne responded by saying, "I didn’t know she had one". The reporters also asked the royal whether she thought too much fuss was being made about the new royal baby, to which she replied, "yes". It was explained by a Palace insider that Anne was feeling the pressures of her engagements at the time. Her engagements were likely quadrupled at the time by the absence of her brother and sister-in-law. The insider shared: "Anne works very hard and sees her sister-in-law picking up the glory. She’s sick to her back teeth with it all." Now Prince William, a father of three himself, shares a close bond with his aunt - who is mother to Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall. Previously appearing on Mike Tindall's podcast, William shared a story about how Anne would chase her nephews around Balmoral Castle when they were children. Reflecting on the happy memories at the Scottish estate, the 42-year-old said that the Princess Royal was "quite quick" and the "look that [she] had on [her] face was quite terrifying". As well as a close bond with Anne, William has been seen to have a good relationship with both Zara and Mike Tindall. The former rugby professional previously shared that their children, Mia, Lena and Lucas, are close to William and Kate's three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
