Clean your bathroom with the ‘high before low rule’ to avoid 'neglecting' area

Maintaining a spotless bathroom can feel like a chore, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming if you just follow a cleaning expert’s methodic approach.

With just a few simple strategies, you can keep your space sparkling and fresh all week long with minimal effort.

Regular cleaning is key, and knowing how to prioritise tasks can make the process quicker and easier and give longer-lasting results.

Cleaning experts at method shared a cleaning technique that is designed to tackle tough grime and ensure your bathroom stays inviting.

They told Express.co.uk: “Cleaning your bathroom probably isn’t the favourite task on your to-do list. But if you want to keep your bathroom dazzling with shine, it really comes down to regular weekly cleaning.

“Use the ‘high before low rule’ – starting with dusting the ceiling corners and wiping down any light fittings before moving your attention to blitzing and disinfecting the shower, bath, and toilet.”

The expert team highlighted: “Pay special attention to under the rim of the toilet and the back of the toilet bowl, as these can often be neglected when cleaning.

“Choose a product that will do the dirty work for you like the method's bathroom cleaner to give you a helping hand when removing pesky grime.”

Bathrooms can become breeding grounds for all kinds of mould, including black mould, due to their damp nature - but according to cleaning enthusiasts, this doesn't have to be a losing battle.

Taking to the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, one homeowner asked: "What's best to get rid of black mould from sealant around a shower tray and what to use to clean grout on tiles?"

One fellow group member answered: "Cotton wool soaked in bleach leave overnight if possible or at least a couple of hours depending how bad it is."

"I use bleach on cotton wool leave for 20/30 minutes", added another.

Replying to the cotton wool hack, another commenter wrote: "I have done this with panty liners. They do not break up and can be reused over and over."
