Doctor's sexual health warning to anyone getting EAFC 2025Whenever a popular video game is released online and in stores, it is a key event to look forward to in the gaming calendar for many PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and PC players. One of the latest games getting plenty of attention is the upcoming release of the newest version of FIFA - known as EAFC 2025. But, an expert has warned people who regularly play on their consoles that this innocent pastime could lead to major health problems if not careful. Many gamers will likely be glued to their screens for even longer with the highly anticipated EAFC 25 game set to be released later at the end of the month (September 27). Some fans have already been exploiting an 'early access glitch' with the New Zealand version, whilst those who paid extra to pre-order the Ultimate Edition will have early access from today, September 20. Doctor Ashwin Sharma, from online pharmacy MedExpress, has warned against excessive gaming ahead of the popular football video game's release due to the impact it could have on gamers' sexual health. A study found that men who spent more than five hours per day using a TV, video games or computers were almost three times more likely to report erectile dysfunction than men spending less than an hour doing the same activities. Erectile dysfunction (also shortened to ED) is a common condition that can impact men at any age - not just when they're older. According to some estimates, shared by MedicalNewsToday, ED affects 8% of males aged 20–29 years and 11% of those aged 30–39 years. Doctor Sharma said excessive gaming can cause issues further down the line, whatever game you play. "With any major game release, it's common for gamers to spend extended hours sitting in front of screens," he said. "However, many may be unaware of the long-term impact a sedentary lifestyle can have on their overall health, particularly their sexual health. "Prolonged sitting and lack of physical activity can negatively affect circulation and cardiovascular health, which are critical for maintaining sexual function. Prolonged periods of sitting and reduced physical activity can lead to poor cardiovascular health. "Over time, this directly impairs blood flow to various parts of the body, including the penis, and can contribute to erectile dysfunction (ED). To support both their physical and sexual health, gamers must ensure they take regular breaks and incorporate physical activity into their gaming session, especially if they plan to be gaming extensively. "I recommend getting up and moving around for at least 5-10 minutes every hour to help improve circulation, reduce the risks associated with prolonged sitting, and enhance overall well-being. "In addition to these short breaks, integrating daily exercise, proper hydration, and a balanced diet will contribute to better cardiovascular health, energy levels, and long-term sexual health." According to the NHS website, failing to get or keep an erection happens to men occasionally. However, repeat problems could be a sign of something you may want to get checked out by a GP or at a sexual health clinic. Sexual health clinics can provide the same treatment you would get at your GP surgery. Many sexual health clinics offer a walk-in service where you do not need an appointment and they'll often get test results quicker than GP practices as well. Source link Posted: 2024-09-20 14:06:54 |
