Jermaine Jenas has been offered an immediate return to television after being sacked by the BBC. Despite being axed from both Match of the Day and The One Show over allegations of inappropriate behaviour, TNT Sports have kept the former Premier League star on their roster.

The 41-year-old is now expected to appear on the broadcaster's live coverage later this season.

TNT have thus far declined to comment on his status, with Jenas having regularly appeared for them since 2014, when the station still came under the name BT Sport.

According to the Telegraph, TNT bosses plan to utilise him again following next month’s international break. However, an exact return date has not yet been finalised.

Furthermore, reports that Jenas was stood down from co-commentary for Brighton’s Premier League win over Manchester United last Saturday are also said to have been false. On the contrary, the ex-England international had not been scheduled to appear.

He last worked for the station on Liverpool’s opening-day Premier League game at Ipswich on August 17. And he is reportedly set to be offered further work for talkSPORT, for who he was working when the news first broke of his BBC axing.

Jenas earned more than £190,000 per year at the BBC, having began presenting the One Show in 2020. He'd officially retired from football four years previously, after failing to recover from a knee injury.

His last BBC appearance was on the show came alongside Alex Jones on July 22, and he last worked on the Match of the Day panel on May 4. He did work for the BBC over the sumemr though, commentating on games at Euro 2024.

But he was the subject of an investigation by the corporation after being accused of sending 'unsolicited' text messages to a female colleague. Initially, Jenas was defiant over his treatment, vowing to consult his lawyears and arguing he had done 'nothing illegal'.

However, he cut a different tone in an interview with the Sun last Friday, saying: “I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry. I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology – especially the women with whom I was messaging.

“I think it would be fair to say I have a problem. I know I self-sabotage and have a self-destructive streak when it comes to my relationship especially, and I know I need help. And I am getting help."
