Exact time UK hotter than Morocco as weather maps show 27C scorcher | Weather | News

The latest weather map reveals the precise moment when parts of the UK will enjoy a balmy 27C this week, making it officially hotter than holiday hotspot Morocco.

A high-pressure system is moving in from the south, causing temperatures to rise once again, with weather experts predicting that Wednesday afternoon will see highs of 27C and dry conditions across the entire UK.

The Met Office's website states: "Very warm with sunny spells in the southeast on Wednesday."

The weather agency anticipates that the warmth will persist over the weekend, with extreme humidity setting in by Monday.

"Drier and brighter through the period as higher pressure builds into the weekend. Lighter winds than of late with temperatures near or just above average for the time of year."

The hottest locations on Wednesday are expected to be east London, Essex and Kent, reports the Mirror, with 26C forecasted for the East of England, while parts of the East Midlands will enjoy 23C sunshine.

This means these areas will be hotter than Morocco on Wednesday afternoon. Casablanca, Morocco's main port and largest city, usually experiences highs of around 25C at this time of year, but only 22C is predicted for Wednesday afternoon.

Safi, located on Morocco's sunny east coast, is expected to reach just 24C on Wednesday.

Nick Silkstone, deputy chief meteorologist at the Met Office, revealed a warm spell is on the horizon for parts of the UK, with an unexpected surge in temperatures.

He said: "There is a warmer interlude of weather on the way for those in the south and east of the UK from the middle of the week. Temperatures on Wednesday could peak at 29C in the southeast, with some good spells of sunshine for much of England and Wales.

"While this initial warmth will be relatively short-lived, with a return towards average temperatures by Thursday, the weather will continue with a drier and more settled theme during the second half of the week under the influence of high pressure.

"The main exception to this will likely be the ongoing chance of some cloud and rain arriving across the northwest later in the week, though even here there should be some drier and brighter interludes."
