Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me

When Strictly dancer Amy Dowden was diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer in May 2023, she made the brave decision to allow cameras to follow her during treatment. This film is the result and, as you might expect, it’s an emotional rollercoaster involving surgery and chemotherapy – but also uplifting moments, including her appearance in last year’s series finale. It has been a difficult few months in Strictlyworld but this story, at least, offers some redemption. Phil Harrison

A lack of funding in state schools has led to shocking numbers of disabled pupils being excluded from sport. This brisk half-hour documentary meets Tammy, who wants to take up wheelchair athletics, and Marley, who derives great joy and empowerment from boxing. Extra government money would be well spent. Titanic: The Musical

The story of the doomed liner that sank in 1912 is an itch that continues to need scratching. This 2023 musical did a fine job of exploring the lives of those on board: from the wealthy passengers above deck to the humblest of crew members, the hopes and dreams of the victims of the tragedy eventually disappeared into the same watery grave. Prince Mohammed bin Salman may permit women to drive cars – but he’s also faced accusations of heavily silencing critics (including the exiled Jamal Khashoggi, whose murder, US intelligence says, he approved). Part two covers four pivotal weeks in 2017 – during which he bought the world’s priciest painting, Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi. Ali Catterall

This supernatural drama, first seen on ITVX, stars the excellent Jasmine Jobson as Lisa, a woman doomed to wander the platforms of a station since apparently killing herself. Never combine business and friendship? Recently reunited besties Freya and Jo (Kyla Harris and Elena Saurel) are putting that to the test in this smart sitcom. While Jo dives headfirst into solidifying her carer skills, Freya excels at her first modelling job but is torn over the results of the “disability positive” campaign. Nicole Vassell
