Nacon has unveiled a spectacular new officially-licensed controller for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Available towards the end of 2024, Nacon's Revolution X Unlimited looks like it will give the Xbox Elite controller a run for its money. According to Nacon, the premium game pad was created with the Designed for Xbox team, and is perfect for first-person and third-person shooters. In my experience, these controllers are also ideal for racing games and 3D adventure/platform games. As you can see from the images above and below, the Revolution X Unlimited comes with an LCD screen in the middle of the controller, complete with multiple functions.

For starters, the LCD display will make it much easier to customise your controller and access your different presets and profiles.

The ability to actually see what you're selecting should take a lot of the guesswork out of setting your profile, especially compared to controllers that utilise this feature using buttons on the base of the device.

Likewise, you no longer need to have the app handy if you decide to play a different genre and want to change the controller preset.

I think this is a potential game changing feature that in theory, should make controller customisation far more accessible.

The LCD screen will also display other important information, such as battery, signal strength and audio source.

Needless to say, the Revolution X Unlimited will also contain many of the features you would expect from a premium controller designed for gaming experts.

The controller features wireless connectivity with the aid of a dongle, as well as the option to use it as a wired game pad.

It comes with around ten hours of battery life, so you shouldn't need to recharge during the middle of a lengthy gaming session.

The sticks utilise Hall effect technology to reduce drift and potentially increase the controller's lifespan, while the triggers contain blockers with micro-switches.

There are six programmable shortcut buttons, as well as directional pad and action buttons with micro-switch technology.

Further customisation is available with the inclusion of alternative directional pads, additional weights, half a dozen stick heads and even two stick rings. As somebody who prefers a heavier controller, these kind of extras are always welcome.
