I tried Aldi’s £4 Vitamin C eye cream and I prefer it to my £38 high-end alternative

Eye creams are moisturising products which can help with a number of concerns including fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles.

For a number of years, I have switched between the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright eye cream and the Origins Ginzing Refreshing eye cream.

However, they are super expensive, with Ole Henriksen’s one retailing for a whopping £38 and the Origin’s on the market for £30.

When I saw Aldi had brought out a Vitamin C eye cream, I was super excited to give it a go, especially with a price tag of just

The product description said: “Feel your best when you add this Lacura Vitamin C eye cream to your skincare routine.

“A brightening cream to target puffy eyes and dark circles, whilst offering much-needed hydration.

“A gentle formula perfect for all skin types, adding a touch of luxury to your daily skincare routine.”

It claims to even out skin tone, brighten the eye area, and help premature ageing like fine lines and wrinkles.

On first impressions, the packaging looks identical in a bright orange little pot, with a white lid.

Upon opening the cream, it looked the exact same colour as both of the expensive alternatives and even felt the same consistency.

I used the Aldi cream for one month before making any comparisons to my well-loved expensive alternatives.

The £4 cream glided onto the undereyes like a dream and blended in seamlessly.

The scent isn’t too overpowering which I prefer in skincare products, and I was super impressed with this.

Aldi recommended using the eye cream morning and night but I’ve only ever used eye cream in the morning, so I stuck to my routine.

After one month my under eyes looked brighter and felt my makeup definitely held better with less creasing.

I didn’t actually notice any difference between using the Aldi eye cream and the high-end alternatives, so I would definitely keep using the Aldi one.

The only problem is availability, as my local store tends to be a little thin on skincare.
