No, don’t worry – it's not just you. Google really did just go offline right now. According to users of the tech platform, Google is experiencing a number of technical difficulties – with some getting kicked off Google meetings and others unable to search or send Gmail messages. Even the YouTube video site appears to be affected. The issues seem to have begun at around 2.30pm BST and are still ongoing leaving many frustrated.

Independent website DownDetector.uk, which tracks "when services go down or have outages", reported a spike in the number of people complaining about Google not working properly. At the time of writing some 11,500 complaints that Google is down are being reported making this a major outage.

Many have also rushed to social media platforms to vent their anger. One Google called Zoe said, "Who turned Google off and forgot to turn it back on?"

Whilst another named Lite added: "Is Google down at the moment? Search isn't working at all..."

There's no word on what's causing the issues or when they will be fixed but services do appear to be coming back online.
