PlayStation Portal fans can get the device for a great price

Amazon has cut the price of the PlayStation Portal - perfect for PS5 players who have been unable to get one or waiting for the right time to grab it.

When the PS Portal first released, stock was almost impossible to get but now stock restraints have lifted and it seems retailers now want to cut the price so more people can grab it.

The PlayStation Portal was released on November 15 worldwide and provides an easy way to play the PS5 console wihout the need to take up the living room TV. It comes with a 8 inch LCD screen capable of 1080p resolution play at 60fps with DualSense joypad sticks attached to the device. In order to play the games, you'll need to be connected to the internet.

The good news is you don't need to be connected to your home internet in order to use the device. As long as you have 5Mbps broadband speed where you're located, you should be able to remotely play your games that are installed on your console.

Sony has said that a high-speed connection of at least 15Mbps is recommended to get the best quality possible to play the device.

The brand has assured players that you don't need to buy PS Plus Membership in order to use the console so once you get it in your hands, it's ready to go.

Amazon is selling it for under £180 which is £20 off the original price - so if payday is here and you want a deal, this might be the one that you've been waiting for. People have also given it glowing reviews.

One reviewer said: "The portal is amazing, easy to set up and allows me to play my games wherever I am. From a tent in Glastonbury to a hotel in Kathmandu, excellent screen responsive controls. For what you are getting worth every penny."

But some people have complained about connectivity issues outside of the home. One person said: "  Great looking device, really good screen (for a LCD) with virtually no lag and works flawlessly at home.

"However out of the home it is terrible, cannot use it from a hotspot or my personal hotspot and cannot connect from wi-fi anywhere even at a friend’s or relatives house."

If you fancy a handheld alternative, you can grab the portable PC Ally Rog X here from ASUS for £799.
