King Charles's 'frustration' over Prince Harry's exit as expert gives | Royal | NewsThere is one aspect of Prince Harry's royal exit that makes King Charles especially "frustrated", a royal expert has claimed. Harry and his wife Meghan Markle shocked the world when they revealed they wanted to step back from life as working royals in January 2020. They have since relocated their family to Montecito, California, USA. The distance is especially hard for Charles for one reason according to Vanity Fair contributor Katie Nicholl. Speaking to the Dynasty podcast, she said: "It is my understanding that there is no contact between Harry and his brother, and that there is some contact between Charles and Harry. “Charles misses his son, and he misses seeing his grandchildren grow up. And I think he’s becoming increasingly frustrated that he’s watched Archie and Lilibet grow up on FaceTime.” Despite this apparent frustration, Katie thinks there isn't any way back for Harry and Meghan into the royal fold. Since moving to the US the couple have embarked on a number of their own projects, including lucrative media deals with Netflix and Spotify, Harry's tell-all memoir Spare and their charitable foundation Archewell. According to the royal expert, the "best we can hope for" is a reconciliation between Harry and his father. She said: "I don’t [think they’ll ever return to the royal fold]. I think the best we can hope for is some sort of reconciliation between Harry and his father. “I think it’s worth remembering that when we talk about Charles and his vision of a slimmed-down monarchy, Harry and Meghan were very much part of that vision. “Harry was always there as part of that picture of the monarchy moving forwards. “And I think when you consider the sort of milestones of the past four years since his departure, and there have been many, he’s been notable by his absence. “And that was never how Charles envisioned it. Harry and Meghan were meant to be there, centre stage alongside the King, the queen and the Waleses there as the ultimate support act." Source link Posted: 2024-07-28 12:07:16 |
