Max Verstappen leaves Martin Brundle 'uncomfortable' as F1 pundit makes feelings clear | F1 | Sport

Martin Brundle has revealed that he feels 'uncomfortable' with the 'disrespectful' way Max Verstappen interacted with his Red Bull team-mates during the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The three-time world champion was left incensed after an unfavourable strategy call left him struggling to get past Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc as the two McLaren drivers disappeared up the road.

Verstappen fumed at his colleagues from within the cockpit via the radio on multiple occasions and after the race he brushed off criticism of his behaviour, suggesting that people should "stay home" if they don't like his attitude.

"It was quite disappointing, I thought: what was going on on the radio in Budapest" Brundle told Sky Sports F1 in Belgium. "You know, you can't cherry-pick the bits you like about very successful sportspeople because they are who they are, and they win as a combination of all their different skillsets and what have you.

"But there's a lot of talk about Max playing on a sim game until three or four o'clock in the morning. That's none of my business, I wouldn't expect him to tell me how to live my life and I wouldn't tell him how to live his life. That's up to him.

"I'm sure he gets enough sleep and he's got enough talent. What he hasn't got anymore is a car that's absolutely totally dominant so the ground rules have changed in that respect.

"What is my business is talking about Formula One and I was really disappointed with how - this is a team that has given him every podium, every victory, three World Championships and counting - and I don't know why he was so disrespectful to them.

"They didn't have a great day, Red Bull, but they had a lot of incredible days for him and the best way to handle that is to suck it up on the day, but it's not how Max is hard-wired. He's got a very short fuse as we know.

"And then [to] go and slam the door and tear pieces out of each other... that is how others have handled in the past and I was really uncomfortable with the way he was rinsing the team and his engineer Gianpiero Lambiase on the radio."
