This half-price Galaxy S23 Ultra is the best Samsung deal on Amazon Prime Day

UPDATE: This deal appears to have ended, but worry not - you can get the regular Samsung Galaxy S23 for the excellent price of £449 - that's a big discount from its RRP of £699. View that deal here. Origina article appears below.

It’s Amazon Prime Day, which means a host of tech deals clamouring for your attention - but not every discount makes a good deal. That’s why the tech team at Express.co.uk have been hunting down the best tech offers to make sure you know you’re getting a great offer, and this half price Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra could well be the best deal we’ve seen yet, down to £699 from £1,399.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung’s flagship premium Android phone first released in January 2023. It has since been superseded by the S24 Ultra, but is a remarkably similar phone and is still very capable today - and is a huge steal at this price, which is for the 512GB storage model, more than enough for photos, videos and files well into the future (I have never filled up a 512GB phone).

You also need to be signed up as an Amazon Prime subscriber to take advantage of this deal. You can get a 30-day free trial here.

Another thing to note is the deal only applies to the lavender colour S23 Ultra, which is a very pale shade of pinky purple. It’s a subtle hue we quite like, but of course you’re probably going to throw a case on the phone as soon as you get it anyway.

Around the front is a big, bright 6.8-inch OLED display with slightly curved edges, plus the device has Samsung’s excellent built-in S Pen stylus. This can be used to navigate the operating system but is also great for taking handwritten notes, drawing, and signing documents.

You also get the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, Android 14 with support until 2027, and an excellent 200MP main camera alongside a 3x zoom, amazing 10x zoom and ultra-wide lens for a very versatile camera set up.

The device is large, but that means you get a huge battery that’ll last all day and then some. Express.co.uk technology editor Dave Snelling gave the S23 Ultra a rare five stars in his review last year.

“... Galaxy S23 Ultra hits all the right notes and those wanting the ultimate big-screen Android phone should probably end their search right now and simply hit the buy button,” he said.

“Battery life is good, it still has the useful S Pen tucked inside its shell and it gets other useful extras such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and fairly fast charging.

“The design also looks and feels super premium and it's covered in Gorilla Glass Victus 2 which should help it survive life in your pocket.”

This deal is expected to last until 11:59pm on Wednesday 17 July, when Amazon Prime Day ends.
